gmartin~That’s a 1956 Plymouth. I had a ’57, with typewriter shift & 318 engine. Too bad it rusted away to dust.

Even better, somebody will take the luscious bodywork and replace all the mechanical bits with nice modern stuff..That was my dream car, which I didn’t snatch up when it was available: a ’56 Bel Air convertible, completely updated with drive train and running gear from a mid-90s Corvette…

I think if Gaylord said “sell this old thing” we could’ve had an argument or discussion whether it was Broomie or the car that could not get stolen.

You people just don’t appreciate vintage automobiles that helped make this country great.Or would’ve made us the laughingstock of the world, if anybody else in the world had any taste at the time. Which they didn’t. It even extended to aircraft, as a saying in the US aviation industry had it:If it’s ugly, it’s British.If it’s weird, it’s French.If it’s ugly AND weird, it’s Russian.Don’t even get me started on the architecture.

Put a sign in a car I had, “if you steal this car, don’t bring it back”. Nobody touched it.
