    That was the counter intuitive lesson from the survival guides I’ve read. Shelter is your first priority. It’s easy to feel the importance of water over food, but I guess we take shelter for granted in the suburbs.

    Summary: You can survive for hours without shelter (in cold or heat). You can survive for days without water. You can survive for weeks without food.

    Why is it that insomniacs always forget their names and where they are from and all their past lives, but they can still speak English?

    @Ray C: I believe you mean amnesiacs. Insomniacs can’t sleep. To answer your question though: Damage to the lambic system, hippocampus and thalamus cause amnesia. The frontal lobe is one part of the brain that controls speech. If you need more info use Google. Be well my friend.
