While I didn’t watcj American Bandstand or Soul Train, I respect Don Cornlius and Dick Clark for what they did.
For a white suburban kid whose friends only listened to Top-40 pop and whose parents’ musical tastes bordered on Muzak, “Soul Train” was a godsend that truly expanded my musical horizons. I’ll miss you, Don!
I’m not black but I have SOoooooouuuuuul! and I loved to watch Soul Train!
