I often wondered what courtship was like in the days of horse and buggys? I can imagine taking your girl somewhere, and having a horse take a dump right in front of you!
Funny comic, but as a former owner of sled dogs I have to make a comment about the drawing. The King appears to be holding reins that are hooked to the dogs. There is some sort of line that goes from person to the animals pulling the sled. This is not how dogsleds are. The lines that go from the dogs’s harnesses are hooked to the SLED. The musher is not in contact with that line. The Musher is holding onto the sled. Should the musher lose contact with the sled, he’s on his own and so are the dogs. It’s not like he can pull on the reins and slow the team down like you can with horses and reindeer. He can throw out the snow hook (an anchor-like device that’s attached to the sled by a long rope) and that might slow the dogs down, but mostly, the only control the musher has over the dogs is verbal. As for making the sled change direction, there’s no pulling on one rein or the other to turn the team, it’s all verbal.
yes, I know it’s just a comic, but that’s no reason it can’t be accurate.

I thought Rodney was off to fight the Huns. Why is he there to pull the sled anyway?
