Anyone ever looked at the history of Mossad? Check out “Munich”, or the letter bombs in Egypt post-WWII that killed German scientists, or many other “suspect” actions. Then there’s our own CIA, or the covert operations of many other nations. “We good, they bad” gets really interesting when we look at all the terrorism from folks we were friends with, then condemned.

Michael: read a very thorough review of the book, it is available at Amazon and in Kindle (U.K.). It appears the “banishment” is over? The novel may well be of interest, and present “alternative view”.

A non-fiction read worth the time is “The Sword and the Olive” – a critical history of the Israeli Defense Force" by Martin Van Creveld (1998)

What folks don’t understand is, one can respect the skills of the “warriors” WITHOUT having the same respect for “political” leadership.

Seeing (and participating in) the horror of war first hand, changes one’s “attitude” in odd, and sometimes apparently contradictory, “acceptance”. The greatest skill acquired in acquiring “combat skills”, is knowing when NOT to use them.

Michyle Glen said, Europe is FINALLY waking up and discovering that Iran is no one’s friend or ally.I don’t see how this cartoon depicts Europeans “finally waking up” to Iran’s position. Somehow because a Dutch cartoonist depicts a view which agrees with your own, all Europeans share this sudden realiasation? Van Dam usually shows Islam or Muslims in rather poor light and also often plays up fear-mongering against Iran; nothing new here. And Iran does have allies: Syria, part of the Iraqi population, part of the Lebanese population, and I suppose Russia & China in the UN (but really their realpolitik as regards the West, the US in particular. So, not really “allied”). Chavez in Venezuela still supported Iran; Brazil, hmm, I think Brazil wishes it had rather not have come out in support of Iran so much these past few years (oi caras, gotta read up more on realpolitiking, guys; you’ve got to make sure your own self-interests are safe-guarded, não é só mijar na água dos outros)Iran’s recent actions are simply retaliation for the assassinations of their scientists in Iran. Tit for tat, even if tit has been amateurly done. And those who think Mossad’s assassinations in the past were professional, read up on their mistakes. Oops
