Does this mean they’re getting old? It would have been fun!

I don’t get it.

I don’t get it either.

I think this is a coloring failure, and Arlo is supposed to be wearing a different color in the last panel.

On my monitor, the last panel, Arlo is wearing a dark gray, rather than black.

In paper his sweater is white

I think he took off his bra. :)

It’s the same on my monitor, too. Dark gray. If you look at Janis’ arm, there’s a blue outline and Arlo’s arm has black or dark gray to distinguish the difference.

I initially took it to mean that Arlo didn’t know what he had put on…….it’s a guy thing.

In the last panel the RGB value of Janis is (20,20,20) (decimal) which is not black, and the RGB value of Arlo is (41,42,41). For the uninitiate, higher numbers increase brightness/saturation.

In my newspaper (black and white version) Arlo’s is white in the last panel. Clearly a coloring issue, as mentioned by Gojira.

It’s a ‘gently sexist’ gag; women have a better fashion sense than men and couples that dress alike are a very small minority (thankfully).

Coloring guys blew it on this one. Jimmy Johnson has what it’s supposed to look like on his blog. Arlo is wearing a white shirt in the last panel.

In my paper, he switched to a white shirt, and they both have white pants; so why IS it black here?

Back long ago my wife and I had matching bib overalls, with matching red striped shirts. Lots of fun.

Arlo left in the third panel to chang tops. Very subtle color change but he is different than Janice.

Couples who love each other tend to dress alike, act alike, talk alike….you name it.

Jimmy Johnson draws them in black and white, some newspapers print them that way. Other(s) put in the color.

The change in color from black to dark gray is intended to be very subtle. An obvious exchange would not be as funny.

Whomever colored the strip didn’t read it, obviously!
