Really!? Is poor Jane that lonely and abandoned that Paige uses the metaphor of a tumbleweed rolling by out in the vast desert? She just finished a relatively hot romance. If Jane’s romances seem to end badly, we have to remember champions aren’t scored by how many times they get knocked down, but by how many times they get back up. In that calculation, Jane is a Champ!
If you go back a few days, you’ll see where Paige explained that she’s running a favorite arc from the past, while she has to temporarily devote all her work hours to another project.
At the left-hand edge this strip is dated 3/6/2002. Dunno whether she goofed when adding today’s date, or it really IS exactly ten years old.

In any case it’s long before the current arc.
