Only been reading for about a week from first to last but I have a few thoughts about the Dittos They remind me a lot of ants. Huge colony with a source (Queen). each on its own is not remarkable but when there are millions then what they can do is amazing and given a guiding consciousness.
I was thinking about the Lost city portion that was introduced in the first story arc. I believe it may still exist undamaged for the following reasons. In the comic on 9/9/2009 it shows Al shooting at nothing and cracks appearing. Later when the Mark II shoots on 20/5/2010 similar cracks are shown when the Amesworth Radiation is only meant to disintegrate. Now we see that the Dittos are not mindless as such it may be that the following happened.
Albert and Gustine arrived at the city fragment which has been hidden and possibly saved by an unknown element (Entity), hundreds of city blocks and all the resources they contained. This entity after initially attacking(Testing) them. Reads from their minds the reason for them being there and creates/reveals the tree for Gustine to see. It then forces them to enter the city proper rather than to climb the slope. Later after surviving Sparkplug(who reforms at the last and seems to sacrifice himself) they reach the top where Gustine is given another test to save the life of Al. the tree at the top seems to die, then revive, and then die again after Gustine refuses the second chance and accepts to remain rhino. The entity then has to get them to leave, thinking that the city is destroyed. Hence the Mark II and the seeming collapse of the upper lip of the city on the lower. It might me assumed that their minds filled in the blanks with what they might expect to hear in such a situation much like Sparkplug and his vision. The Dittos then hid the supposed ruins. It is said that Dittos can’t talk or but maybe they can make some sounds when absolutely necessary when acting in unison.
This might lead to another adventure later in that lost city.
He did something he’s not proud of and he’s been running from the guilt of it. His something may be a betrayal of the teacher to save himself. He still has his badge. If he were detained and not let go, I think it would have been confiscated, unless Apex didn’t know what it was.
