This really is very Lewis Carrol.I thought Aaron Marx’s first two attempts at cheering up Wally were ham-fisted, but in hindsight, they have helped move him along. I don’t think Marx applied them after careful consideration of the various courses of action – he just acted. He’s like a force of nature, not worth debating. He has not acted out of malice or manipulation, just what seems to take his mood at the time. His credo is that strange things happen, and life is most fun if you don’t try to find otu the answers. When he gave Wally the replica of the assault rifle, it hit the raw nerve dead centre. When he faced Wally with his most painful memories, it forced him to recount and interpret those memories to the one supportive person he has grown to care about. This was done in a non-dangerous environment, on a full stomach and after a (relatively) good sleep. “Crash or crash through” therapy – it could have failed, but it seems to have accelerated his coming to terms with his past and defusing the bomb. Now, shooting him with a hail of love hearts is the equivalent of giving him a hard slap. Wally has lived through worse than that, and he can give as good as he gets. He has the strength to weather Marx’s confrontations, and every time he stands up to them, he becomes stronger. I believe the patient will make a full recovery.Weirder and weirder…

I like how AM looks slightly perplexed over Wally being upset.in panel 1. He appears a little chastised in panel 2. Then when Wally looks perplexed and asks how AM does “that,” AM immediately comes back with the smile and playfulness. Nothing is going to get or hold this guy down.

Crash Jarlidium’s servers!I predict that in a few years, the first edition copies will become collector’s items worth 4 to 5 times cover if you keep them in good condition. Wally knows about dittos so I thought he realized the flashback was made of dittos. That is a pretty amazing ball. Arron Marx seems to be a trickster, a coyote, or loki.What they do is often to appear mean, I think. But maybe the outcome of an adventure is good.
