Thanks to Mabrndt, I saw all the background about this woman and the rest of her family who sat not only for Gaugain, but also for Van Gogh..@Simon, any ads that are repeated a lot can be annoying. I am never annoyed by actual art though (when our museum had a Monet exhibit, I went to see it) and I was never even bothered by their ads for Egyptian artifacts athough copys are so abundant that one could furnish a home with nothing else.
Every day I hide Melchor’s caption while I look at the painting and try to guess what he’s going to say. Today I was almost sure it was going to be something about the gangrene on the woman’s temple.
Number Three has posted this comment in The Village:“I emailed GoComics yesterday and my Big Brother or in your case Number Six ( LOL) is back next week.Sorry it took this long to tell you but I was going to stay off GoComics for a while. I would hate myself if I didn’t tell you all first. That’s just ignorant and I’m not like that. So….. Yeah. He’s back next week. Spread the word to the other strips such as Andy Capp & The Buckets.Be seeing you!” A short time ago, I received this response from GoComics Admin: Hello Lady Shades,
I’m up to date on the entire affair. I talked to Number Six yesterday when it happened and he understands and said he respects my decision.

Sadly impossible. Gauguin’s subjects are never disfigured by plastic surgery.

Awright Melcher….how much did the Seattle Art Museum pay you to use one of Gaugin’s paintings in today’s cartoon?

( Where I live, you can’t get away from the ads for this expo, radio, billboards, you name it. )
