I taught my daughters the dandelion/butter thing a couple of years ago; they still do it once the dandelions arrive. There is also: blow the “fluff” off of a dandelion while making a wish, and if you blow them ALL off in one puff, your wish will come true.
Since briatollah brought it up, I don’t care for butter. It has a funny taste to begin with, and it spoils too easily and gets a rotten taste, yech. Margarine ‘keeps’ longer (seems like forever). I can hardly wait till our neighbor’s yard turns into a dandelion field, and it spreads to our yard. Grr. (Yeah, I knew you’d all want to hear (read) about my problems. ha)
Charlie Brown doesn’t want to PICK the dandelions — he wants to MOW them. There’s a difference between picking just one or two and destroying the entire lot of them

It’s not a myth, it’s natural herbal history!!!They used the roots of the plants, you can still buy dandelion and burdock in Britain.

When I was little, I would rub dandelions on my nose to turn it yellow and my parents would laugh and take pictures.

We used to do this with buttercups – not dandelions. If you blow a dandelion head in seed you will have a lawn full of them !!

Okay, why can Sally pick the dandelions but Charlie Brown isn’t allowed to?
