Those mutated chipmunks can weigh up to 50 lbs.

In answer to Teresa’s question on the blog, seat belts didn’t become standard all at once. Saab was the first manufacturer to make them standard equipment in 1958, but it took a while for other manufacturers to follow suit.

When I was in high school in the 1980s, a buddy of mine bought a 1962 Ford Fairlane which had come from the factory with no seat belts. In retrospect, I’m surprised I was ever willing to ride around in it.

I guess if she is, as it seems, picnicking alone, securing a table is more masochistic than victorious. And if she is not alone, where are the [alleged] others?

I have just sent the following message to “the powers that be”:

“I am contacting you concerning the exclusion of Number 6 from your comic site. The comment that got him “banned” was obviously not meant to be offensive and he (and the other person concerned) has apologised.

Why does your moderator allow things to go so far? There’s enough religious ranting in the world without having to experience it on a comics web site. Often those who find offence are MORE offensive than the original comment.

Please reconsider your decision." I am not looking for a medal or praise but maybe one little boulder can start a whole lot more rolling.

RE: number 6 – a copy of my letter to GoComics contact us site

Although I rarely comment myself the main reason I use GoComics is for the the great comments I get here, the strips I read daily are almost all available on the artists own sites and some of them have blogs. I read those sites as well each day. Number 6 has long been a commenter on many pages and has never been anything but respectful and humorous, if there was conflict I’m sure both parties were participating in fun or, alternatively, Number 6 was trying to change bad behavior on another posters part (I have seen many other commenters trying to nudge trolls into more respectful positions, not sure if Number 6 was one of those or not but he/she seems like the community minded type) I’m sure banning Number 6 was the expeditious route when in doubt, but I hope that upon closer review, they will be returned to normal status.

Though this thread is on many pages I am posting it here because FA readers, as a whole, exemplify the kind of commenters I am talking about (not the trolls)

I too have emailed gocomics asking for his reinstatement. This rash of bans has become off-putting.

Chipmunks are much less intimidating then squirrels.

Re: “…Counterfeit Medication” on the Blog. Hey, the guy is just selling placebos. Placebos are perfectly legal, and they are effective in a decent percentage of patients. Methinks placebo ED pills would be, like “love potions”, pretty effective in many cases. And none of those annoying trips to the ER when the “effects” last for more than four hours.

Re the TREE CHAIR:Here’s my wife (same wife, note the year the picture was taken in the file name) being amused at a tree using another tree as a chair.The picture is twice as big but posted with sizing instructions to make it fit here.

Apparently entries existed at TCMdB for both Joe and Margaret, minus biographies and pictures – which I have now uploaded, and they should appear shortly. I had no idea this resource existed – thanks so much for the pointer, Teresa.

What’s more, by going to my mother’s IMDb entry, I discovered a few things I had no idea she had done. Amazing!

AN UPDATE ON THE SUSPENSION OF NUMBER SIX

I’m up to date on the entire affair. I talked to Number Six yesterday when it happened and he understands and said he respects my decision.

It is a temporary suspension.

I’ve encountered several chipmunks this year. Can’t think of an animal that runs away faster at the sight of a person than a chipmunk.

I shared my picnic table with the chipmunks.

Great to hear #6 will be back.
