In the late 70’s the B.C. gang used to do TV commercials. Anyone out there know what they were advertising?

Ain’t it a bitch? Intellect trying to escape the pork barrel. I’ve watched (and voted) for 45 years and I’m as clueless about improving the process today as I was in the ’60s. I think somebody up/out there needs to take that big pancake turner and use it now.

A pace is two steps, equal to five feet. A mile used to mean 1,000 such paces, until some useless bit of royalty decided they needed to be able to fit 8 furlongs into it, thus making it 5,280 feet. Why they thought they needed it to hold 8 furlongs I don’t know; perhaps they thought the soldiers marching to war might have a horse race break out or something.
