Feh. British tea tastes exactly like that :P

J.A.M. apparently isn’t a tea drinker. I love hot tea of several varieties. One of the strongest teas I drink is imported from England as a variety called “Scottish Breakfast Tea”. While one tea bag is supposedly for one cup of hot water, I find that it makes two cups of tea that gives coffee a run for its money in terms of stimulation.

Is there that big a difference between tea bags and tea brewed in the little metal holder thingy?

@ Sporty….YES there is a BIG difference……You get tea flakes in your tea when using a little metal holder thingy…and you don’t when using a tea bag thingy…besides…i don’t STEEP my tea..i SIP it…..

I use a “Mrs Tea” maker every morning. They don’t make themany longer and are hard to find. You need to run some whitevinegar through them once a month to keep the internal hoses calcium free and only use filtered tap water in themto keep them going. I’ve heard that the English use a touchof milk added to their tea. I’ve tried it, and it does make for a better taste of English Breakfast or Irish Tea. Try it sometime!It’s better than what Brutus is drinking this morning. “Bleah” !

I can remember my grandmother drinking a cup of hot water with a little sugar in it for breakfast when I was young. That’s because there were some days that her stomach wasn’t feeling well and that was all she felt she could keep down.

I’m of British descent. I can’t drink a cup of hot tea unless it steeped for 5 minutes. I like the strong taste of tea.

Personally, I think I like the sound of “little metal holder thingy” better. lol.

People, believe me, I’ve had REAL British tea, from Britain, made BY Britons, and sorry, that tea tastes just like warm water.

Maybe it’s because I’m a Mexican that I can’t seem to grasp that subtle taste….

These comments about the British and their tea make as much sense as me saying:

- I once bought a coffee in an Italian restaurant and it came in s stupid small cup and was black and too strong. The Italians know nothing about coffee.

or – I once bought a coffee in an American food takeaway shop and it was weak and too milky with what looked like cocoa powder on top to give it some flavour. The Americans know nothing about coffee.

or – I once bought a coffee from a big chain coffee shop and it came in a paper cup with a plastic lid and took ages to make and by the time it cooled down the cup had gone soggy and it collapsed. The big coffee chains now nothing about coffee.

If you don’t know what you want, that might explain your disappointment.
