If I wanted to watch a fight, I would turn on the T.V. to CNN or MSNBC….I come to the comics to relax and get away from bickering. This was one of my favorite Strips for a while and Liz is trying desperately to change that. I think she needs therapy or a hormone replacement system. She is really getting out of hand.
You see this sort of thing from time to time in comic strips. There was certainly an appearance that Lynn Johnson began casting men in increasingly negative ways in For Better or Worse when her second marriage failed. Ed Stein is first an editorial cartoonist, so it’s possible that the strip also has some editorializing, perhaps about the less appealing sorts of relationships in this case. As thoughtful as editorial cartoonists are, I doubt any themes sneak in by accident.
You have to do some argueing and fighting infront of the kids. Otherwise they are unprepared for real relationships with real people who disagree with each other. Not always fairly but they love each other enough to work it out.

Why is she so spoiling for a fight?

That behavior will for sure give any men a pause. Getting a load of her mother’s behavior way back then should have given him a big pause.

I think her butch haircut is affecting her personality. Did I say butch? I meant manly. Yeah, manly.

Some people are mean and abusive to anyone who happens to be around them. Maybe gender has nothing to do with it.

Ok, it’s official. I despise Liz. Sam should ask for a divorce.
