I cancelled my land line. It had gotten more expensive than my cell phone. The phone company had me on hold for a very long time until I got through to tell them to cancel my service. I felt a bit sad; the end of an era. I had that phone number for 22 years, but it wasn’t worth $48 per month to keep a streak going.

my land line only costs $15.89 but has no long distance so I use Googlevoice (free) to call long distance. i’m pretty much a homebody.
