Alice: Ah! I haven't communed with nature in, like, forever! It's so nice and quiet. And the smells of wet dirt, and a new garden hose, and a pile of fresh mulch, and - SNIFF - something I don't think I want to know about. Just the sound of the breeze rustling the leaves. And Dill's dad yelling his head off that somebody better move all this trash out of the driveway. And there's dead leaves and old newspapers and a baby sock and - EW! EWWW! TV nature shows never mention slug trails. Petey: Neither should you!

Communing with Nature is great as long as you understand and accept that with roses come thorns…. It’s not always pretty.

For a second, Alice was going all metaphysical on us! But Petey has it right – communing with nature just gets you dirty!

I love nature — just keep those slucking fugs away from me! (Ha! Let’s see what GoComics’ auto-censoring algorithm makes of that!)
