The last vehicle I had that was approaching DMV “antique” status gave up the ghost at age 21 — which coincidentally is when it started being given gas with ethanol in it.
100 years makes it an antique, 50 years makes it vintage, 20 years makes it retro. (In the field of “antiques and collectables”, no matter what they are..) A real “classic” car designation is decided by the Classic Car Club of America. People can petition for a vehicle to be classified as a “classic”. It must be between 20 and 40 years old.

@psychlady25 years old makes it antique so anything before that is old I drive a 17 year old Toyota with 246K on it
