There are more than 800 languages spoken on the island of Papa New Guinea! Hey bud... What's eatin' ya? When a person dies among the Jarawa people of the Andaman Islands, relatives set the body beneath a tree where it sets until it is reduced to a skeleton! More than 90% of Antarctica is covered in a sheet of ice up to 3 miles deep!

I wondered about that too, so I did a quick check online and found 3 sites (there are many more) that confirm Ripley’s findings: Ethnologue says there are 842 individual languages (of which 830 are still living languages), our State Dept says PNG has three official languages and approximately 860 other languages, and another source says simply, that there are over 800 languages. It’s hard to disprove Ripley!

Must not be many animals on those Islands. Animals usually leave the bones scattered about.

I knew the fact about Papua New Guinea. It is my favorite country. Maybe even because of the languages.
