Hornets, which are what appear to be chasing Claire, do not seem to be experiencing CCD. She would’ve had to do a lot more than say “hello” to a bee hive to get assaulted in that manner.
(I know, I know, it’s just a comic, it’s just humor – but bees get a bad rap and I woke up in a soapboxy mood :-P)
The “bees” in the nest are actually wasps, which can be aggressive if you disturb their home (or even appear to be a threat by hanging around too close). Honeybees, responsible for pollination of about 1/3 of all the food we eat, are indeed endangered due to pesticide poisoning and various environmental factors. They live in holes in trees and sometimes in walls or roofs of human structures, are vegetarian and fuzzy, and are generally docile (they die after they sting, so what’s the point). Yellow jackets, on the other hand, are carnivorous, live in holes in the ground, are bright yellow and smooth, and can be very nasty (they don’t die after they sting, so bring it on!). Thank a honeybee for being alive and for helping YOU to live.
Little honey bees, you can stay. Everything else….shivers.We had something in a hole in our backyard a few years ago. My dad threated pouring gasoline in it. Gah xD

Bees are going away.

Bad idea on the bees!

Judging by the nest, I would say they are not bees, but paper wasp, maybe even hornets.

That looks more like a hornets nest to me. Yes, they are that aggressive, if you see one, stay away…
