Man: Uh-oh. I think we lost power. Woman: Where's the flashlight? Man: I don't know. Woman: If we find it, does it have batteries? Man: I was going to check the other day, but then I couldn't find the flashlight. Woman: You know, I think I'm going to be prepared next time. Woman: I'm going to remarry.

Must be nice, stabled up with a princess like that one…
I’m surprised she isn’t whining about not having a stand-by generator.

In this case, the woman has nothing to complain about – she’s an adult and has every bit as much ability to get the flashlight ready and make is accessible as he does. Maybe she’d be doing him a favor by finding a new husband (if anyone else would have her).

I don’t know how it works for anyone else, but home is my domain. I know where everything is because I’m the one that put it away. Hubby asks me where everything is and I tell him. However, if the lights go out when I’m not home, these guys are screwed.

get an oil lamp (and keep matches next to it) like I use and they would not have to wonder where the flashlight and batteries are

In our household everyone has their own flashlight. Also have one or two in other areas of the house (kitchen, living room) in case power goes out. Blackouts happen, and hurricane season starts June 1st.
