Well I donât go for that long-haired stuff so all Iâve got to say is this:
Iâm gonna write a little letter, Gonna mail it to my local DJ. Yeah anâ itâs a jumpinâ little record I want my jockey to play. Roll Over Beethoven, I gotta hear it again today.
You know, my temperatureâs risinâ The jukeboxâs blowinâ a fuse. My heartâs beatinâ rhythm And my soul keeps a-singinâ the blues. Roll Over Beethoven and tell Tschaikowsky the news.
I got the rockinâ pneumonia, I need a shot of rhythm and blues. I caught the rollinâ arthiritis Sittinâ down at a rhythm review. Roll Over Beethoven theyâre rockinâ in two by two.
Well, if you feelinâ like it Go get your lover, then reel and rock it. Roll it over and move on up just A trifle further and reel and rock with it, Roll it over, Roll Over Beethoven, dig these rhythm and blues.
Well, early in the morninâ Iâm a-givinâ you a warninâ Donât you step on my blue suede shoes. Hey diddle diddle, I am playinâ my fiddle, Ainât got nothinâ to lose. Roll Over Beethoven and tell Tschaikowsky the news.
You know she wiggles like a glow worm, Dance like a spinninâ top. She got a crazy partner, Ya oughta see âem reel and rock. Long as she got a dime the music wont never stop.
Roll Over Beethoven, Roll Over Beethoven, Roll Over Beethoven, Roll Over Beethoven, Roll Over Beethoven, dig these rhythm and blues.
Iâll listen to swing-era music, R&B, blues & old time rocknâ roll but classical music is the type of music I heard in my old dentistâs office. I never wanted to hear it anywhere else because I would be reminded of that dentistâs office.
I think it best you listen to what you like and Iâll listen to what I like.
Having classical music shoved into my ears since I was a baby, I really do not blame anyone for not enjoying. When anything is made a detested chore when you are young, it never becomes âniceâ.
Kids naturally like the simple tunes, that is when the love of music starts. ALL music is to be treasured, even that âtwangy guitarâ. Show children from a positive light and they will enjoy.
I agree⊠Music is music. There are some great tunes in any genre (except RapâŠ). There are bad tunes in any genre. Some are debatably bad and others just plain stink. Itâs okay that we like different tunes and different genres. I wouldnât like someone telling me I HAVE to eat something I donât want to eat. Iâm all for trying new things and keeping an open mind. But Iâm an adult. I can make up my own mind. I love Classical music, especially Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Handel, and Rachmaninoff. (John Williams symphonic soundtrack music is much the same thing thing. Ever listen to The Planets by Holst? Williamsâ Star Wars sounds a lot like that.) My oldest brother was a teen when The Beatles were tops. I still love listening to most of their stuff. â70s music is my favorite era of pop music. Some great stuff there. I also enjoy listening to jazz, both the classic and the modern stuff. One of my favorites is Pat Metheny. Music is too beautiful to close oneâs mind to. I love listening for the different instruments and phrases in Classical music. I also enjoy some of the great guitar or saxophone solos in rock and pop. Itâs all good!
How on earth did the comments become a discussion group on music? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and tastes. I have been a music teacher for almost 30 years, and I am happy to teach MANY styles of music to my students.
Meanwhile, did you notice how Charlie Brownâs chair migrates during the strip? He started out sitting on the âwrongâ side of the booth so his speech bubble covers up the boothâs title. Very clever, Charles Schulz!
It was refreshing to read the lyrics of Roll Over Beethoven. The Beatles did it the best. Psychiatrists should all play their clients favorite music. Itâs good in easing stress.
