Capitalism in America? It would be nice if we tried it. The semi-socialist mixed economy we have now certainly isn’t working, especially compared to the (relative) economic freedom that ruled for the late 19th and early 20th centuries and made America the richest nation in history.
BTW, if anyone wishes to tell me “It’s just a cartoon”, so what? Capitalism needs to be defended everywhere.
man, at the magnitude of your plight…Yeah, it really needs defending, because if you don’t, you get what we have here today…corporate capitalism…a sickly, bloated mass in which ordinary people cannot take part in except as mere passive pieces and place-holders in the game. The evil and the greedy, under such conditions, when they have enough opportunism, always enslave and engulf all the susceptible humans…in Indian cosmology from ancient history, this age is predicted as the Kali Yuga…rule by the very worst and basest.
Sad to contemplate, even Koch and Murdoch are not really very advanced along the current spectrum of attention…there are implications that they too serve, other, greater, unknown dark personages at the ends of whose controlling strings they themselves bow and curtsy to, themselves also weak and cowering slaves to the terrible power…marvel, entranced hu
Your sarcasm is showing, Agnes. But you pay for everything in some way. You also pay for having something where you want it when you want it, i.e. convenience.

I agree with tigre1. I wish I could view all of the comment; it is cut off.

You can call it a sick, bloated mass, but like democracy, it’s “the worst… except for all the others.”
