Transcript:
Rob Surette of Andover, Mass., Constructed a 5.5 foot tall portrait of Jesus from 24,790 carefully placed push pins! B1hutan generates more than 99% of its electricity through renewable hydropower- and has so much left over that most of the country's business is selling its access to India! For the past 62 years, Liberal, Kan., USA, has hosted an annual foot race on Mardi Gras, with women carrying a pancake in a pan for the duration of the race!

The pancake race is ready for early retirement

Obviously, that race was not ‘a flash in the pan’! It endured the rigors of time!

Has that race ever been ‘panned’ by the critics?
Puddleglum2 almost 13 years ago
Some people probably thought the race wouldn’t pan out over the long run.

What this Ripley’s strip does not mention is that Liberal does this in competition with Olney, England, who have been racing since the 15th century. See http://www.kansas.com/2011/03/08/1752936/liberal-beats-olney-england-in.html

And they have to flip the pancake once during the race.

Amazing – since no one really knows what Jesus looked like.

That must have been a lot of work and patience to make that portrait of Jesus. I wish I could do that. Artists usually do portray Jesus with the look of a young man with Jewish characteristics.

We could learn a lot from Bhutan.
