I have to laugh whenever I hear a defensive player being described as a “tough guy.” How tough do you have to be to hit someone who’s not allowed to hit you back? Following that logic, my cousin Lisa was the toughest person on the planet – she used to slap her older brothers at will, and they weren’t allowed to lay a finger on her.
An endemic problem with Americas social mentality; we have taught our masses to strive to be “one-up*” by any means possible and across most if not all fields of endeavors and, “to bad or so sorry” is all too often all that those who are left “one-down*” ever hear or receive.
