PHANTOM: It turns out the trustee’s tip was right & P. thinks out loud with an unusual reference to his “costume.”REX MORGAN: Mabel and Iris are both unhappy; maybe they need each other.MARY WORTH: IMHO, our culture has confused the marriage ceremony with entertainment (putting on a show & throwing a big party). Even though Bobby is a celebrity, he and Gina have managed a ceremony with simplicity and focus on the marriage.MARK TRAIL: Dr. Wade Davis, an anthropologist & ethnobotanist, has done some interesting research into the use of tetrodotoxin from the puffer fish in Haitian “zombi powder.”
Rex Morgan, MD (RMMD) – Iris and Mabel both have dual personalities. Iris – sweet, young, outdoors type/problem drinker. Mabel – loving, grieving widow/nagging, shrewish exwife and stepmother. Which will meet at the funeral and which will win out in the long run?Judge Parker – Mr. Blackstone doesn’t appear to be a pleasant person to deal with. Sanchez is a very capable administrative assistant.Mark Trail – Interesting. I’m not a gourmet – I don’t want my meals to be so exciting that it might be my last!Mary Worth – I agree with Florchi. Whether religious or not, the emphasis should be on the vows, not the clothes or the partying. Some churches are requiring at least 3 counseling sessions and setting some limits on type of music and intrusion from wedding planners and photographers.
Happy Mother’s Day everyone. My children have all remembered me in some way and I’m remembering my mother, gone now for 20 years, for her loving care and positive outlook. “Whatsoever things are true, pure, of good report – think on these things”.
PRINCE VALIANT: no strip this week ? I will be looking for it online. Had to call newspaper to let them know i didn’t get the supplemental issue with the comics this weekend. I doubt PV is still carried in it however. It caused me to think how it would have been years ago when i was only reading the comics in the paper to miss the Sunday “Funnies!” I probably would have called my Grandma and asked her to save her copy for me. I think I’ll call her today. Happy Mother’s Day! I posted late comments yesterday.
@ Teh re: your posts from yesterday. I like the suggestion of a second “ghost who walks” in Mexico.I may have mentioned before that there is a song “The Lost Chord” which I remember from childhood and I found the lyrics online. I don’t remember any mention of a work of fiction. Our organist played the song recently at church and no disaster befell us!

REX MORGAN: Aside from Iris’ fascination withj her father’s manuscript, we are also seeing Foster’s widow going through a difficult time.
APT3G: The usual weekly review; sometimes the last panel takes a peek into the future – not this time.
MARY WORTH: Shouldn’t all weddings be like this one? No worrying about planning or bridesmaids’ wardrobes!
