I once bought a clip-on watch from that famous watchmaker, Levi’s. Ran for about six months, then died. I use my cell phone for the time now.

Some kids I spoke with recently say watches are coming back among the younger set. Considering iPhones are popular targets for thieves and muggers in NYC, it’s a smart choice not to take one out in public if you don’t have to.

Yes, Sergio. But we’re free and real and not slaves to digital imaginary friends. Our children are lost, but our grandchildren will figure it out.

How curious: I just got done winding the Spiro Agnew watch I found when cleaning out my junk drawer last week.

Considering how often I lose my cell phone, forget it or let the battery run out, it’s a good thing I have a watch, which is snapped on my wrist all the time and therefore I always know the time.

One of the benefits of retirement is not really caring what time or day of the week it is. Of course, that is also one of the drawbacks as well.

When he was about 10, my grandson actually asked for a watch. Now that he’s 16, he uses his cell phone like all his classmates.
