Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling Presents: News of the Times Obama Claims His Position on Gay Marriage Is "Evolving" President Obama's statement that his position on gay marriage is "evolving" ignited a controversy over the existence of political evolution. It is believed the evolution of political positions on gay marriage looks like this - The Bible says Adam and Eve, not Adam and Some Gay Dude. Civil Unions are okay, but marriage is man and woman. Personally, I'm fine with it, but it's a state issue. This is a basic civil right that must be protected. Okay, we got the marriage in, now we can push for our real agenda, mandatory gay sex for everyone! Figure 1. However, political creationists reject the entire theory of political evolution. Peter L. Schmidt (R) Kentucky Peter: Political views are what God, in his wisdom, puts in your head. And they are forever and immutable! Peter: For example, it has always been my position that there is no greenhouse effect, and nothing is going to make that "evolve"! Same with my position that Obama was born in Kenya! Yet political creationism is hard to reconcile with the fossil record. Scientist: Good lord! A quote from Mitt Romney saying he's PRO-CHOICE! Scientist #2: Wait. Even further down, I found one saying he's NOT pro-choice! The process that drives political evolution? Theorists call it "national elections," or survival of the fiscalest. Barack Obama: My position against gay marriage was preventing big donations...so it didn't survive to the next election.

The Bib may not say “Adam and some gay dude” but it does say that Adam had it off with his own rib (same DNA; same sex) that was magically transgendered. So he was having children by what was effectively his identical twin, transsexual partner AND out of wedlock.Oh! They weren’t actually married…Never mind…

@jimjammer,I suspect Ruben’s position is somewhat similar to my own: nobody’s perfect, and Obama has positions I do not agree with: it’s not a case of “he’s my guy so he’s always right.”
OTOH, a Republican administration (in their current mode) would be a complete disaster for just about everything I am in favor of, so, no contest: Obama it is. At least he’s rowing in the right direction.

If you change your position on a topic and you’re on my side than I’d call you pragmatic. If you are on the opposition’s side, then you are a flip-flopper.

Bolling writes many “cartoons” that are critical of Obama and his policies. Your criticism is not valid. Your later comment is filled with right-wing nonsense. What’s the point, man?

If Obama is the ONE does that make Bushy Jr. the -99? It is so refreshing to have a president who does not suffer from Wet Brain.

Most of you – though not all ( he quickly says.) miss the point. Ruben Bolling is a satiric illustrator with a sharp pen and even sharper wit. Any good satirist, worth his salt, will skewer anyone or anything who deserves it – no matter religious, political or social bent. That’s the joy of satire ( he says ironically )!

marriage has always been and will continue to be a financial consideration (altho I shan’t discount sexual attraction)…feh to all you romantics who contribute to the 50% divorce rate and create financial catastrophe only to feed money grubbing lawyers…when in a marriage two people can come to unconditionally love and rely upon one another in order to maintain a stable family relationship that assures their loved ones of future financial stability and a sense of loving then that union has served its social standard and deserves to be recognized by society…there! I’ll get off my soapbox and let the trolls maul me…don’t care, tis my say and I’m stickin’ to it!

a) that wasn’t his budgetb) race relations— I’m not even gonna touch that onec) Unemployment – twitching up and down but general trend down: he can’t get his jobs proposals passed because the Republicans are busy promoting anti-abortion bills: “jobs, jobs, jobs” my @$$.
—I have links for all this, but I know I’m not going to influence you, nor you me: just got to get it out there.
