OK, now I am done with Zack Hill. I did not realize Zack was that kind of kid to steal from his own mother. He has lost all his appeal in my opinion.

It’s up to you whether you’re done with this strip, of course, but please consider that youth is when we all learn about what’s right and wrong and Zack is just about to have a big lesson about wrong (I hope.) This comic strip is trying to look at some of the hurdles that kids of today face and do it in a comedic fashion. Zack Hill is trying to show a kid in a tough situation and how he might honestly deal with it. He’ll make mistakes and get in trouble, but that’s kind of why I like him. I remember being that kid weighing the pros and cons of snitching a dollar from my mom’s purse. (I never did; honest, Mom!) So I find Zack screwing up kind of sweet and nostalgic, as long as he gets his comeuppance. Just my opinion, of course.

when I was eight or nine I took 4 dimes out of my grandmother’s wallet. when I got back with the toys I bought she walked me back to the Ben Franklin store and we took everything back. I was very embarrassed. 30 years later I took her to the store and she took a pack of dentyne. I didn’t take her back. I would have bought the gum for her but she did have money.
