Oops! In 1943, the entire crew of the US Navy destroyer USS William D. Porter was placed under arrest after the ship accidentally fired a live torpedo at a battleship carrying President Franklin Roosevelt! Griffin's leaf nosed bat, a newly discovered species in Vietnam, has a crinkled and leaf like nose spread across most of its face! 76-year-old Barbara Neiman of San Diego, Calif., collects 4 and 5 leaf clovers every day of the year and preserves them by sticking them to her calendar!

Maybe FDR had a four-leaf clover with him that day.The crew needed someone to go to ‘bat’ for them!

Double Amen! Only somebody ignorant of history would badmouth FDR! Unfortunately, that’s about three fourths or more of the American people thanks to the boob tube and all infotainment media!

I’ve always ranked George Washington number one; he had to start it all without any precedents to go by. The whole government could have imploded if he had not made enough of the right decisions to get everything up and running.

I have always ranked George Washington as number one simply because he decided not to become king. In his day that was unprecedented.

In his day FDR was vilified by Republicans in much the same way as Obama is now.

Nothing got better for us until WW II. I remember my parents “oh roosevelt will fix everything” and we’re hungry and about broke.

Was FDR great? He did little to boost the economy. He even tried to keep the US out of WWII. If it had not been for Japan and Pearl Harbor Germany would have had time to develop the A bomb. Only after the US enter the war did FDR start looking great.

You seem to be able to read. Did you miss the statement “According To Wikipedia”? I didn’t make the list, so don’t blame me if it you don’t like it.

FDR died before the war ended. It was Truman that had to finish it. He was the one that gave the OK to use the A-Bomb on Japan.

Our present problem is that we have two major political parties, each of which would rather lead a 2d or 3d rate country than see their opponent lead a 1st rate country.

Next time you can run the world and give God a break. I need a good laugh, why don’t you give us your top ten.

Well, did a little research on the Porter, even more ironic? She was sunk by a kamikaze that missed her.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_William_D.Porter_%28DD-579%29#Battle_ofOkinawa
