    Thank goodness for Gutenberg books ( the originator and home to most of the free classics). Some Philip K. Dick titles are even available for free.

    Gutenberg is a good site. Amazon has some free e-books in MOBI format for the Kindle.

    got about 500 books on my nook so far. b&n has tons of books that are free or ninety-nine cents. love it.

    Moby Dick is brutal. You’ll know all you ever wanted to know about 19th century whaling. I honestly don’t know how that book qualifies as a “classic”.

    Speaking of… who has read Anna Karenina? It was on my book club’s list, but I had no time for it so I skipped it. Is it another truly amazing classic, or should I continue to skip it?
