RJ: yeah, this is bad.... hammy: and the sun isn't shining because it's smiling. RJ: hammy's x-ray vision can rearrange matter! verne: What? no! hammy: It's just got gas! Rj: We have to do something now!! verne: seriously. I really need new friends.

No, RJ just thinks Hammy’s X-ray vision can rearrange matter.RJ is almost as disconnected from reality as Hammy, but without Hammy’s whimsy.

And just how often does Verne try to make new friends? Admittedly, I’m bad about it too, but my problem is too few close friends, not stupid ones.

Putting up with old but annoying friends still keeps you in your comfort zone. You have to move out of it to find and make new friends, which is why you usually put up with the old ones.
