Pete,I owe you a huge apology. Yesterday,I flagged your comment on Candorville,mot realizing,as someone pointed out that it was pure sarcasm on your part. I also called you “a vile excuse for a human being”. That was wrong and wholly uncalled for,and for that,I am deeply sorry. I’ve read your posts,and I realized that you are in fact (to me,anyway) a most intelligent and humorous fellow. I don’t come here to offend,defend or even upend the landscape here,and I pride myself on being thoughtful and (mostly) respectful to other posters when I DO decide to comment. That thoughtfulness and respect was not present in this instance. And though we all know,there are posters who make no bones about their feelings about people of different ethnicities,sexual orientation,etc.,that’s NO excuse for MY ill-conceived response. I caved into kneejerk thinking and blew up at your use of the hated “N” word (or parts thereof),not realizing the sarcasm behind it. And though I shun its use by anyone,especially my own people,I used it (parts thereof) in order to underscore my point. I was wrong,my comment was wrong and my assumption about you was wrong. I assumed and made an a$$ out of ME,at least,not YOU! Your comment and my reply are both still there,last time I checked. If not,you now know why. Once again,Pete,I am profoundly sorry for my comment. I usually try to be the bigger person in things like this,but this time I failed.
