If anyone in the US is having problems with their politicians and their treatment and/or proposed treatment of the voting public, just give a thought for the people of OZ who desperately want an election.
My parents lived through that era! They decided that they wanted to be married in 1929, but the reason I’m not a few years older than I am is because it took until 1939 when Dow and Dupont were gearing up for the war that was almost certain to happen for he who was to become my Dad to get a job that could support a wife. So they who were to become my parents went together exclusively, each living in their own parents’ homes, until they could finally get married in 1939.BELIEVE ME, by the early 1950s when I was in grade school, if I had wanted to get drowned in the bathtub, the SUREST way to have it happen would have been to come home from school and repeat something ostensibly ‘good’ about FDR that I had heard from the slightly left wing teachers in school that day!!! My parents weren’t wealthy Republicans by a long shot, but they hated Roosevelt with a purple passion!!!
Since FDR our presidents have become minor players and with each succeeding one this condition grows. The real power is in the hands of those few indiduals that control the banks and the oil companies. These people love how democrats and republicans squabble amongst themselves not the politicians so much but the voting public.
Without clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, fertile soil to grow in, all these arguments become academic. How are we to progress with all this posturing and bickering?I will vote for whoever has the best chance with the best environmental record regardless of party. It is frustrating that we are so entrenched in the two parties that none of the others have a chance.
I don’t entirely blame any president past or present for the state of the economy. If they were really in charge of it, wouldn’t it be good all the time???

It’s said all our country’s troubles began with the Nixon era and became worse during both Bush’s eras. I don’t know though.
