I do notice Annie’s silence. She is acting like the parent in this situation. She had to make the unpopular, but correct decision. Her methods may not have been the best, but she worked with what she had.

Yes, Boyd, those are the motivators(i hear this “whined” to me from my coworker all the time)…and the mortar, but trust is the brick and cornerstone.

Yes but a more secure lifestyle doesn’t guarantee happiness. Just because Lila would have money doesn’t mean she will be happy. Remember that Annie has to live with the repercussions.

ANY relationship is built on trust and Annie blew their relationship in that regard.

But… did Annie ever tried to TALK with Lila about that? Poor communication I guess, like when she purposely failed the test just to go to Spain and cause she wasn’t interested anyway.

All the commenters seem to be ignoring the ironic humour of Boyd’s punch line in this strip to dicuss Lila’s broken engagement. That observation of his was brilliant.
