At least Linda gives Wally the praise he deserves for going through all this.

Watch out everyone. If I am not mistaken, and I don’t think I am, Aaron is out to GET US!!! This is too tame. Too calm, too trite, which is as I anticipate a calm before the storm!!!! OH Yes. Watch out all you. Friday will be probably ghastly. horrible, maybe even nauseating beyond anything we could forget in all the future of End town. I hope I am not wrong.Blessed BeThis is a 5 dictionary comment :>)

This is beautiful. It is the payoff I’ve been waiting a year for.A small payoff, admittedly, and only a temporary lull in the convoluted plot, and definitely not the last word… but emotionally, it’s exactly the right resolution at the right time. And now I’m getting all teared up.Thank you, Aaron Neathery. Curse you and thank you.

Remember, in this story, the victory conditions:- Stay alive- Stay human.Fulfilling one but not the other counts as failure.

One thing confuses me though. When they were surrounded in the PT, Linda demanded to speak to her child who was located in Pine Valley dome #3, yet on June 25, Linda identified this outpost as Cedar Springs. I know we still know very little about how the TS world is set up, but at first glance that seems odd. I had initially assumed Linda’s son was in this outpost and expected her to play some part in stopping Flask, but then figured her lack of involvement was due to the fact he was located somewhere else and not in immediate danger. Now this. Curiouser and curiouser…;-)

Yeah…“Stay human” implies certain standards of behavior, morals, ethics…however you want to put it. But “humans” engage in much behavior that other humans find unacceptable, even abhorant. Whose standard of “human” is the right one?

Though, in a way, that’s the point, isn’t it? Wally saved the Topsiders because, although they are the enemy, they are still human.

I would have thought about not hearing a thank you, just having them all back together each in their own one piece, but that was so touching. She was right to thank them. it’s one thing not to be able to be with someone you love, and a whole other thing to know they are dead. maybe the next thing they do is try to get her child and try for a good reunion. that sounds like the crazy hero-ic type thing they might do.

Isn’t it standard cartoon practice for toon characters that after they went through the wringer like Wally did fighting Blackie to look neat and clean again in just few minutes? Just asking.

You would expect after an encounter with an unknown like the airship, the TSers would send out teams to investigate. It would not seem to be a healthy place to linger. Can they perhaps jump back up into whatever it was they just dropped out of?;-)

I like Petey’s expression in panel 4 – a change from panel 2. Wonder what Marx is thinking at this point, probably “more mush”. Hope we get to see Flask in tomorrow’s strip! ;)

I agree. Human is or should be a consciousness designation, not a physical one. The people who look like animals aren’t acting like them. They are behaving exactly like the humans they are, with all the varieties and issues of behavior that entails. Once the virus gets everyone – and it most likely will, how could it not? – then the definition of human will change to the one it should have been all along. Fear is the only motivator right now. Fear works great as a motivator for animals but has never been a good one for humans.

This has been a great way to almost end a weekI would be more to bet on the TSers coming than what’s left of Flask. I used to say “rats!” at bad things, but when I had my pet rats. I felt that I shouldn’t say it that way! I like the little rats that are here with their little uniforms and extra long noses. My favorite is that rat that was flavoring the beans.
