Maybe before calling folks idiots (twice) certain folks should learn to spell better. That’s “you’re”, not “your”.

What a revolting (as in “time to revolt”) development! If it were MY strip, I might begin to introduce an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) wherein the owners sell out to the employees, especially taking back a large part of the purchase price in long term bonds subordinated to bank debt for the down payment.

ESOPs are especially attractive to aging or absentee owners who have no family members looking to carry on the business [and can’t find a buyer willing to pay all cash.]

This isn’t a case of Left or Right, it’s a case where people want the news on the Web for free..Plus the papers have been sold to another group for too much money, so the staff is cut. The quality of the product is reduced so less people are interested in the paper..Also people today don’t want facts, they want ‘News’ that agrees with what they think..

Jane (and Paige) are facing the sad truth that the newspaper as we know it is coming to an end.

Hey, Jane,Look up the history of “The Paper” in Oskosh, WI. I think it closed sometime in the 1970’s. Same story, except they didn’t continue a weekly continuance.

i think this is a plot line to introduce Jane to a new job and into a few new characters

I take it that the one one the right in the final panel is a woman. If so she is the spitting image or a Sapphite I used to know in the early eighties.
