Caption: Art appreciation in the laptop generation.
Man in middle or room looking at paintings: Hmm...I wonder what software they used to get that brush stroke effect.
The day after the Colorado theater shooting, Gocomics published an old Non Sequitur featuring a bomb squad raiding a bad comic act in a theater. The two had nothing to do with each other but, due to the high emotions over that incident, it was unfortunate timing. Gocomics did not flag itself that day and perhaps should’ve. They could probably have gone onto another archived Non Sequitur.Let’s see if I get flagged for criticizing the powers that be (it will be my first time!).
Earlier I posted a comment that highlighted how someone is not allowed to refer to a certain body part. I later deleted it. But it does strike me as strange that we can say “arm”; “appendix”; and “cervix” yet not mention the names of certain other bits of anatomy..If we use slang expressions beginning with “c”, or substitute asterisks for letters (f**k), I can understand that some people can object. These are things that exist, let’s be grown up enough to know what they are. I knew what these words meant before I was 11 years old as do most school kids.
in honor of pcolli’s “dot”:teacher: ok, little johnny, draw or write the most important thing you knowpoinkuh, what’s important about that, johnny?johnny: i don’t know. it’s a period. it’s gotta be important— all i know is my sister missed her last one, ma fainted, dad had a heart attack, and the boy next door joined the army.
Alien Skin Snap Art 3 and Topaz Adjust are just two plug-ins available to simulate art. When the image is printed on the right paper and mounted properly, it can be quire “realistic.” Of course purists would get all in a huff – kind of like they do when authors use word processing software instead of writing with a sharpened quill or readers use Kindles instead of scrolls.

I don’t care if it’s a repeat. Some people go to galleries every day just to look at the same painting.

They used a really primitive software called real brushes.

I’m shocked they’re not taking pictures with their smart phones or posting about it on Facebook.

You can’t. They took art out of public schools as it was not needed for proper political indocrtrination into being a liberal.

Too, too true.
That’s not to slight digital artists or those who convert their traditionally-produced works to digital form via photograpy or scanning.
The best digital artists are those capable of using some traditional medium well.

What’s everyone saying about flagging? What is it anyway?
