Actually I liked childhood so much I didn’t want to grow up. I’d just like to go back and edit out the bad stuff! But I didn’t care for any sports. I was a daydreamer. I wanted to draw and tell stories. But I do know that childhood is full of fears and doubts and dangers. CandyLand it ain’t. refer to my comic book Patty-Cake for the truth.
I hated gym class, no matter what we were doing. It was always the perfect opportunity for the other kids to bully me. I was also one of the (probably very few) kids who hated recess for the same reason. Recess in the winter was so much worse, because in addition to the bullying, there was the snow and cold to contend with.
I agree, I was neither big nor a bully, though sometimes bullied, but I loved DB. The small kids were too wiry to hit, the bigger kids (bullies) were easy targets.

I loved my childhood, I was too big to be bullied, and to stupid to bully.

Here’s the trick to surviving dodge ball. Throw the ball lightly and be the first one out.

Depends on the kid. There are a lot of Joey’s out there. And there are lot of kids who do enjoy the game. This one is for the Joey’s.

Apparently Joey doesn’t have your dodgeball skills. :)

I liked mine- except for the usual aforementioned bad stuff. Leave out being sick, punished or chased by bullies, and it was the best of times.
