Of course, with that long club, he’ll still whap himself in the chest, or his his own arms while swinging with it choked up.But I wonder if this club has exaggerated length, especially for an iron. Yes. I’m too technical about it.

When I was a kid my grandfather took me and my brother out to hit some golf balls – just in a field, no place official. I swung the club (his), which was really too long for me, and slammed the head of it into the ground with some force. We immediately went back home and he never took us again.

Jason is better off playing mini golf.

I’ve tried golf at least ten, fifteen times because all of my friends seem to enjoy it so much Have even entered into golf tournaments and played 18 disastrous holes. The result is always the same. Sheer, unadulterated boredom. How do golfers do it? After about three holes and my mind starts to wander. It is the most boring, banal game invented by man!

It is said the Scots invented the bagpipe and called it music, Scotch whisky and called it liquor, and golf and called it a sport. I hate all three of them.

I used to play golf then it got to be too expensive, and not fun, for the last 40 years I now take long walks in the woods and enjoy life.

That club is about twice as long as it should be for Jason. Maybe if he backed up a bit and held it in front of himself it would work better.

“Choking up” has many different meanings – and that’s no choke.

I’ve never tried golf. Never had any interest whatsoever. Looks much like twypsi’s description, “the most boring, banal game invented by man” to me. And he should know, he tried it. I’ll take his word.

@Redkayceri Repoc: Actually, the Scots were Irish. They came from Ireland and established the kingdom of Dalriada in Scotland and founded the royal dynasty of Scotland.

I don’t know who invented golf, but I read once that it was played by Mary Queen of Scots who had a French mother.

I know someone who said bowling was much preferable to golf. With golf you hit the ball as far as you can, then you have to go get it. With bowling you throw the ball, and by the time you drink some beer the ball has come back.

I’m half ashamed of Jason. Any physics expert would know that a longer stick generally means longer range. Unless there is a short club with a heavy weight at the end, increasing the length of the stick increases torque, which would provide more force.
