The sunburn baked his brain and his sense of humor evaporated. Ususally, he’s good with Nelson. Remember the whole series about who is the fun grandparent? Earl won, hands down, because he knows what boys like. Opal’s idea of fun is shopping for fabric. I didn’t know Sylvia was divorced. I have seen a man in her life and assumed he was Nelson’s father. Lots of grandparents take care of the children while parents work. Some are even taking care of great-grandchildren.
