The Dayle Cagle site has some good ones.I think it is great that everything went as planned, given that they couldn’t do anything while waiting 14 minutes to find out what happened.
Congrats to NASA & JPL for showing what Americans can do when we put our minds and resources to a task. Now we need a lander we can send at incoming rocks that can actually do damage to the planet and us. Land a powerful motor onto a rock or perhaps even a comet and use it to push the threat into the sun. Landing on the moon or mars won’t mean alot if a football stadium rock slams into the home planet. The reference to the recent shootings, while topical, diminishes the amazing feat accomplished or the technological advances this success proves.(“Save the whales, but not the planet?” – from the Last Starfighter)Respectfully,C
I wrote a short story over half a century ago, when I was about the same age (12) as Norquist when he came up with his “no taxes” pledge. In the story, folks lived inside Mars, and had sent early probes, to start life on planet Earth as their environment was dying. I’d love to see Curiosity come up with some more proof that essentially is what actually happened. It’s been under consideration since finding “Mars rocks” in Antarctica.
^^ Ima; In homicides of police officers (armed) in the last decade, cars were used over 30 times, knives 5, out of over 500 officer’s murdered. Ever try to kill someone at 30 yards with a knife? or by strangulation? or poison?

It does have a laser — supposedly to shoot at rocks, for science — but we all know it’s really for defense.

They’ve been watching NRA ads on TV.
