I’m guessing their last name is Murphy (as in Murphy’s Law) and besides, we KNOW Calvin isn’t seeking to learn the ethical and safe use of either firearms or explosives.(don’t mean to grump but sometimes it’s good to state the obvious)

As my Mother and several of my Aunts INSISTED that I also receive a well rounded Classical education as a child, I was also the only Engineer on board who could (and frequently Would) quote Byron, Descartes or Shakespeare whilst on watch in the darkest hours of the night. My near Encyclopaedic knowledge/recall of Music and Movies (for THAT was what I was passionate about), also served to Amuse/Confound my Companions as well …In Short, I was overqualified to be a Marine! :-)
