NATE: Okay, Spitsy, here's the deal: Dad's vegetable garden is getting destrpyed by woodchucks! He doesn't want to go to the trouble of building a fence around it. That's where you come in! Woodchucks are afriad of dogs! So you're going to stand guard! That way, those pests won't pinch any more of Dad's carrots! SPITSY: WURF? NATE: What? You don't know what a carrot is? Here! This is a carrot! SPITSY: CRUNCH! Narf narf narf narf narf narf narf. NATE: I'm thinking a fence might be the way to go.

I’ve heard dogs like carrots. However, I have a rat eating my corn and the neighbourhood cats are useless. I sure could use something right that hunts rodents about now.

Spitsy, you are the dummest dog in the world, but acording to the febuary 24, 2002 comic strip, you really are a dog, not some big lump of fur with a microscopic brain. ( OK, his brain probably IS microscopic, but he is a real dog.)

My mother used to have her dachshunds chase the rabbits out of her carrot patch. They dug up and ate more carrots than the rabbits did!
