She didn’t correct the woman that she is her niece?

In this context, it doesn’t matter how they are related. Fritzi functions as Nancy’s mother. After all these years, she probably got tired of explaining.

It almost looks like Fritzi’s outfit is a super hero costume of some sort. Reds, blues, and a big belt buckle.

I’d like to see Fritzi as a mermaid. :-)

That was my first impression, too… Wonder Woman.

An explaination would have taken a frame away from Mr. Gilchrist’s superb “Nancy as a Fish” artwork. Most people will assume a mother-daughter relationship in that situation.

I think I do remember that movie, now that you mention it. But Linda Carter definitely stands out when I think of the main character

I love Fritzi’s purple tank top but it shows too much cleavage. When I went swimming as a child, I’d pretend to be a dolphin or whale.

Nancy – better get out! Some years back, a lady ignored the warning, and nobody realized she was still in the pool when they opened the valve to drain the pool!Luckily, she survived going out the drain!(Quincy, Illinois apx 1950)
