Sort of reminds me of an old “BC” comic strip where the guy went to rent an isoceles triangle at Peter’s Rent-All and was introduced to Mr. & Mrs. Isoceles and thier maid, Grenelda.
Would be plausible if the quills actually penetrated a tortoise shell and there were actually quills on the underbelly of a porcupine which there aren’t.
