Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Thanks to all of for your kind wishes. I donât know what hurts more, my pride or my ribs. Imagine the clientâs surprise watching 240 lbs. of me bounce at his feet ! Iâm lucky that it was only the ribs. No cuts or scrapes just chagrin at being such a klutz.Having broken, bruised, and cracked my ribs before, I know that taping them is only a placebo. The only thing you can do is be careful and go through the painful healing process. The biggest pain is getting in and out of the car. I guess washing the dog and vacuuming will have to wait awhile â which will make dog happy.
A couple years ago I tripped and fell face first on the floor. Sprained my wrist, had a hairline fracture on my elbow and broke my nose. To this very day my nose does the twist every time it rains.
I donât have a problem with umbrellas â but me and coat hangers do not get along.@Linguist â hope you are feeling better â at least you got the consulting job. With every bad comes some good.Recently, I tripped over a sign going into Loweâs and did quite a dance before running into a line of shopping carts. At my age, did not want to fall. Other customers were having a good laugh at my expense but I didnât fall. Was just hoping it didnât end up on u-tube.
HuffâŠ. puff⊠whewâŠNever made it to Ballard St. on SaturdayâŠ. and of course the bus doesnât run nowâŠhad to walk from the train stationâŠ. Stel said I could call the dog hotel for a ride but itâs 2am.
Oh Linguist! You and Beviek both need to listen to the advice I give all my friends:DONâT FALL DOWN.
Of course, they donât follow it eitherâŠ. and unfortunately, neither do I.
Iâve had a few spectacularly embarrassing falls myselfâŠand I know what itâs like.
Tomorrow Iâll bring you both some chicken soup. And Salonpas.
I gotta get some sleepâŠ.See you in the morningâŠ. well, MY morning,,,
HeyâŠ. did I just see the Monkey?Werenât you supposed to be far away all weekend?
Well, if youâre hereâŠ. do you think you could look for x_Tech?He seems to be missing.
Iâm sitting around doing a little listening to some blues, âŠ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>As I prepare for Isaacâs arrival â who I hope is a No Show â Iâm listening to a mix of George Benson- Absolute Benson, Wynton Marsalis â Marsalis Standard Time, and Chris Flory â City Life.Perfect trio for a breezy afternoon.
Howâre you doinâ? Itâs a pretty quiet week-end on Ballard St., and, indeed at GoComics. The weather is too beautiful to stay in or others are preparing for severe weather. Hope everythingâs OK with you.
Hey, I do that all the time. The things in the world that are out to get me need to be punished, and severely. But for some reason I keep ending up with piles of junk instead of useful stuffâŠ
Oh Linguist, do be carefulâŠ. old hand or not!Hope the ribs are feeling better today, and youâre well shelteredâŠ.(and the ship strongly tied, if you sailed home to Florida, and didnât leave it safely anchored off Ballard St.)
We have quite a few other site denizens and visitors from the Gulf areaâŠ. hope youâre all safe and snug.
Stel! Have they caught Mr. DeDeurwadar? Hope they made him stop before they locked him up. Theyâve already run out of umbrella spray at Ballard Hardware.
I hate using the stuff anywayâŠ. itâs not very ecological. But sometimes it just comes down to âOK, itâs the umbrellas or me .â
Thanks for the recipe page linkâŠ. Iâd heard of it but thought it was a fable, such as mothers tell the children on rainy nightsâŠ
âYes, Alice, there IS a page of secret recipes and formulae, far, far away under the sign of the dogâŠand some day when youâre olderâŠâ
I already have x_Techâs formatting page bookmarked, and I direct people to it.Learned a new trick there myself the other day.
MonkeyâŠ. ooops. I read âLabor Dayâ but didnât process it.
Yo RedâŠ!!! Right ON with Tinsley EâŠ!!!Teh man is awesome..!!! I got several of his CDs an Mah fav is Speak No Evil from Oct â09⊠Partikaler to a few cuts like Grow A Pair and The Other Side⊠Heâs amazinââŠ!!!
beviek, StelBel, SusanSunshine at. alThanks for your concerns and well wishes. It appears that Issac has decided that he wonât visit my little slice of paradise with all his might. Aside from some rain squalls and wind gusts, the storm is heading out in the Gulf.Good news for me but not for my friends in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. If the trackers are to be believed, it could turn into a Cat.2 hurricane and slam into New Orleans on the 7th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Letâs all pray that it doesnât happen and the storm blows itself out before making landfall.I will let you know tomorrow exactly whatâs happened here. Also, much thanks for the links. Iâll post the recipe on that site tomorrow.I also have a recipe for whole rooster⊠I meant roaster chickenâŠsorry Stel, my bad.Good to see you back Number Six.I wonder if Storm might be able to help get rid of Isaac ? Iâve seen the way she gets rid of unwanted guests.

Kevinâs broken umbrellas have called in reinforcements! Ballard St. residents grow increasingly concerned!
StelBel over 12 years ago
Citizens have taken to using umbrellas everywhere, regardless of the weather, to avoid being hit by falling umbrellas.
