To leftwingpatriot > Right, and as long as life long welfare recipients, illegal immigrants, drug addicts and alcoholics get their fair share off the gov’t teet.

@ghostkeeperGov’t is intended to maintain our sovereignty, law, order, and infrastructure, not to sustain a welfare mentality. Why should the gov’t fork over an additional $1,000 or more/month for every illegitimate child some welfare bum has? Why are we paying for safe needles to go to drug addicts? Why are we paying for everyone’s irresponsibility?

It is interesting to note that a large portion of the pro-liberal voting block are welfare recipients, those in favor of the illegal immigrants, and people who think killing babies as birth control is okay. All irresponsible positions.

I like the idea of a flat tax. EVERYONE pays the same percentage of their income with no loopholes or deductions except for the current family deductions. That way everyone pays the same percentage. That is fair.

This is one of the reasons my SIL retired from teaching. That, and not being able to teach her third graders anything but how to pass those annual tests. Oh, and by the way, in order to get her union pension, she had to PAY the union a great deal of money when she retired.

The state should protect liberty - that’s its only acceptable function.  But it should remain humble in doing so, and be constrained in such a way that it is forced to be humble.         - Pierre Lemieux

Notsoastute: Have any sent theirs to public school? Having school age kids is rare enough, but in recent years the Secret Service has vetoed any intent to do so. Sam Rayburn’s house is three miles from mine, 50 feet from a state (in his day, US) highway. When home on recess, he would sit on his front porch as a signal to his constituents to drop by and talk politics. Can you imagine what the SS would do if any Speaker tried that these days?

The average starting salary for a teacher in Wisconsin is $25,222 and the average salary for a teacher Is $46,390 after years of work. I hardly consider this overpaid for the level of education and retraining required.

My, self-righteous, aren’t we? As a good liberal, you have now accomplished your liberal daily goal of being able to feel good about yourself. Go back to sleep now.
