I’m replying because your post is longer than the usual one line of snark..How can you ask “What Bailout?” Are you trying to deny that there was a bailout of the Auto Industry? That doesn’t make sense. Even if you are being sarcastic, it doesn’t follow your narrative.-—-Nice post, dredpirate. Detailed and informative.-You can see why Mr. ZIT normally sticks to one line of snark. When he’s trying to make a counter argument, this is the best he can do.
oh Henry, nasty ’toon. You would have rather all of Detroit go under while Japan, with its government health care, makes the Japanese workers more competitive?
I think if you look into GE you will see there never really a real chance to go under. Yes their small end items may have been lagging, but with Healthcare needs and the possibility of healthcare reform by the Obama group they would have survived. The only way they would have gone under is if they were forced to pay taxes. Plus Ford did not take the bailout, so GM probably could have gone through the restructure process and come out ok. So, when will they be requred to pay back the monies owed if they are doing so well now? I think they were looking for a free government handout like so many people.

THREE TRILLION DOLLARS, at LEAST, AND over 5,000 American lives: Afghanistan and Iraq, now THERE is a “loss leader”.

No, Howie, you’ve never been a good judge of truth. You still deny man-made climate change.
