I’d like to know how Earl lets himself get roped into going to the fabric store.

I have never understood why some women have to drag their husbands everywhere, especially somewhere they don’t want to go, and then complain when the husband is miserable. Or women who can’t go anywhere—like shopping or church—alone. You’re married, not joined at the hip.

Could be that Earl is the better driver of the two.

Earl is a Responsible Guy, according to Opal. When things don’t go the way she wants… He’s responsible. ( same for most married couples)

Earl’s place in life(like all husbands) is to be miserable – Opal’s place is to make sure of it……………..
